Both drives are marked as IDE(0) secondary master during clone operation

Thread needs solution

I used to do mirror image by Ghost 2003 using my C: drive with Sata (0) connection as source and other drive connected to Sata (1) connection on my motherboard.
With Acronis true image home 10 using clone function, when both drives are plugged in, powered and working they show us as C: and F: BUT both are marked as IDE(0) secondary master.
I see them as different because one is WD and one is Seagate.
When attempting to clone I see the warning that the destination drive partition contains data that are "important" and request for rebooting.
IS THIS NORMAL?
I do not want to wreck the previous mirror image...

Hello Adam,

Yes, it is quite normal that you need to reboot to perform cloning. Moreover, I may recommend you to clone your drives using Acronis Bootable Media, since some running programs within Windows may prevent Acronis True Image 2010 Home from working properly and therefore the operation will fail.

The full description of cloning procedure is described in Chapter 20. Transferring the system to a new disk of Acronis True Image 2010 Home User's Guide.

Please feel free to reply to this thread if there will be any additional questions.

Thank you.

If you do not want to "wreck the previous mirror image", why are you attempting to use it as the destination drive?
