Build 6688 fails backup after domain password changes

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Any idea why all file backups from my remote servers fails every time our domain passwords change? Any idea how to fix this? I always figure out (after an hour or so of troubleshooting) how to make it work, but I never recall how the hell I did it. Hopefully there is a short, simple answer to my question. :)

Thank you in advance.

This is what the TI 2014 Build 6688 log reveals: message="Access to the file or folder is denied. (0x40014) function = "WNetAddConnection3W", filename = "\\10.10.135.109" Tag = 0xF35F747B3B21FA6F Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password (0xFFF0) code = 8007052E) Tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8C3" line_tag="0x8948510CD2B4C874" >

I figured it out. Remove your file backups (choose to only remove from your backup list and NOT the actual *.tib). Go to "Add backup" icon which is just under the "Tools and utilities" tab. Select "Browse" -> Select your shared drive/dir -> Select "Edit credentials" -> Add the new password in -> Select "Test" (hopefully it will log in successfully with your newley changed domain password) -> Create the new backup and select "Back up now". It works! :)

Please note that you will need to follow this procedure for EACH file backup you have.

I hope this helps!
