What should I use to use my existing ssd to another new computer ssd. (backup or clone). This should be simple, I cannot find any clear cut directions. The main reason I purchased Acronis was to go from 1 computer to another as advertised.

you want your old system running on a new computer?

make a disk backup to an external drive (always the best)

create boot medias "true image" & "universal restore"

restore backup on new computer with boot media

apply "universal restore" with boot media - this removes unneeded drivers which might prevent starting windows

run your new system and install the missing drivers for your new hardware.
you might have to reactivate windows and true image
