Can NOT connect to 2nd PC (Window8)

Thread needs solution

I have True Image 2013 installed on a Windows 7 computer. I just recently bought a Windows 8
Eee PC notebook. Both PCs are wireless.

The 2 PCs can 'see' each other using HOMEGROUP.

I tried using True Image 2013 (on Win 7 PC) to back up the Win 8 PC to an external HD connected to
my Windows 7 PC.

I get a pop-up asking for ID/Password. I enter Win8's computer name and HOMEGROUP password.
Get message saying, 'Can not connect.'

What am I doing wrong? Is there a work-around like connecting the 2 computers directly using an Ethernet (Cat5) cable?

Try not using Home Group (this may or may not make any difference), on my main PC (Windows 7) I just share the drive I use as my archive drive and with sharing on the Win 8 laptop switched on it and True Image can see the W7 machine and drive.

Note though I have found using the laptop wireless to the WiFi router can be a hit or miss affair whereas using a cable form laptop to router i there is no problem.
