Can not mount volume in read/write mode (checkbox is not displayed on drive letter assignment page)

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

I have created a backup of my laptop's harddrive including all volumes (file mode - not block-by-block) into a single TIB archive. This is the only backup archive I have created from this laptop and it is a full backup.

Now I want to mount one of the volumes (former C-drive) on my PC to recover some data files from my profile-/user-directory there.

I copied the TIB archive to my PC's local harddrive and use the mount option via Windows Explorer's context menu on the TIB archive file.

When the select volume/assign drive letter page of the wizard is displayed, I cannot select to mount the selcted volume in read/write mode (I have only the single one volume for the former C-drive selected - the others are unchecked). Please see the attached screenshot.

I need to mount with read/write enabled, since otherwise I could not force access to the files under the profile-/user-directory in the archived volume.

I did the same operation already many times with my former True Image Home versions (I just recently upgraded from 2014 to 2015) - I never had problems like this before. The checkbox to select read/write access is not even shown in the wizard's window below the list of volumes and drive letters to assign. But I can see the checkbox in the help that is available for this wizard page.

So I am wondering what could have happened that I am no able to mount a single volume from a TIB archive in read/write mode.

I am grateful for any comment or hint that would help me understand or solve the problem.

Thanks a lot in advance,
(Benrie).

Mounting in read-write mode is not available in True Image 2015. If there is such checkbox in the help, the help is incorrect.

Ok, "great".... thanks a lot for your responses. Is there another Acronnis product (or product variant) that would still provide that function?

Cheers,
(Bernie).

P.S.: The help is incorrect, see http://www.acronis.com/de-de/support/documentation/ATI2015/index.html#9…
