Cannot complete backup after backup device change
Hello
I have Acronis truImage 2014 that I use to backup my computer.
I make disk backup to an external usb JBOD device and everything was fine.
Until I decided to replace my old usb 2.0 JBOD box with a new usb 3.0 one.
I moved the disks to the new box and formatted them. Then, in Acronis I deleted the old backup definitions and created
a new backup with the same definitions I had.
But now, when trying to rin this new backup for the first time it seeems to run fine but when its about 80% through
it throws an error saying it cannot read from the backup file (see attached error.jpg file).
After that the backup cannot continue and I cave to cancel it. I tried checking the disks for errors, tried with only
one disk in the external box but got the same error.
Another thing that I noticed is that after I cancel the backup, in the backup properties, it says that this backup
has 16 or 17 versions (see file versions.jpg). And I wonder how can it have 16-17 versions if this is the first time
I ran this backup ?
Im not sure, but I suspect that Acronis true image manages some kind of an internal database that thinks I still have
the old, deleted, backup and looks for its versions (which are long gone). Maybe I should also wipe this database so
everything start anew, as if I just installed Acronis for the first time.
1. Does anyone know what the real problem is and how to solve it ?
2. If Im right about my assumption then how do I reset the internal database ?
Thanks
Guy Shilo
