Cannot create full version after incrementals

Thread needs solution

I have set backup to create a full version after every 5 incremental versions, but I am now up to s16. What am I doing wrong? I want all the incrementals to be removed to restart again with just a full backup again.

It would be easier to view if you were just to post the jpg images directly into the posting rather than include inside a document.

As you have indicated, the task is all messed up. The deletion and a new full should have occurred after S6 became 7 days old.

At this point, I would stop using the task and create an entirely new backup task and pointing to a new storage folder or sub-folder.

I would also recommend that you NOT use the "Delete older than X days, instead,
use the "store no more than 2 recent version chains"
That setting would keep 2 chains of 6 tib files each (each chain=1 full +5 inc)
Deletion of oldest chain (6 files) would begin after the third full backup, and
chain deletion would continue after each of the succeeding full backup.
The program makes a practice of creating the replacement before actual deletion occurs, which is why deletion occurs after the full rather than before the full.

An example:
GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. 6 Inc, Keep 4 chains. The 6-4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.

Thanks GroverH. I will give that a try. I may have to cut down on the chains as one drive I backup is almost 1TB so multiple full backups would overflow the HDD.
