cannot display this video mode
I am trying to boot from the recovery cd but I keep getting the message "cannot display this video mode please change etc" I tried the the change VGA=Ask but this doesnot help. With some of the video modes I get in a kind of text mode. Looks like linux to me but the it stops with an #.
In some forum I read that there should be a different iso image to start with but this doesnot show in my account.
Anybody knows how to solve this?

You might send a PM to someone from Acronis Support and ask if you can try the English version of TI. It has a later build and may have more updated drivers. Otherwise, they may be able to provide you with a custom build that includes the drivers you need.
Another option is to try the SafeMedia (Safe Mode) version of TI. You would need to download the add-on from your Acronis account, install it, and create a new TI CD that includes it. It may not see USB drives, though.

Hello all,
Jan, let me help you with the issue.
The most probable reason of the issue is that Acronis Bootable Media of Acronis True Image Home 2010 failed to correctly detect the video card.
To fix it, please do the following:
- Download ISO image of Acronis Bootable Media from your account at the Acronis website. You will need to log in your account and underRegistered Products & Support select Bootable Media. See Downloading AcronisBootable Media;
- Burn the downloaded ISO image to a CD/DVD. See Burning an ISO Image. Thus, you will have Acronis Bootable Media;
- Boot from the created Acronis Bootable Media and issue the following command:
kernel.dat initrd=ramdisk.dat vga=[VALUE] quiet
where [VALUE] is a code for screen resolution and color quality:
Screen Resolution 640x480 800x600 1024x768 1280x1024 Color Quality 256 0x301 0x303 0x305 0x307 32k 0x310 0x313 0x316 0x319 64k 0x311 0x314 0x317 0x31A 16M 0x312 0x315 0x318 0x31B Command value Example
Issuing the command will force the selected screen resolution and color quality.
Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists, I'll be glad to assist you.
MudCrab, thank you very much for your help.
