Cannot Install True Image Home 2013 Upgrade with Free Plus Pack

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image Home 2010 and purchased the 2013 upgrade with free Plus Pack. The 2013 installation guides states:

Upgrading from old versions of Acronis True Image Home
If you already have Acronis True Image Home installed, the new version will simply update it; there is no need to remove the old version and reinstall the software.

Yet when I try to simply install 2013 it fails saying I must first uninstall version 13.0.7160 of TIH and the add-ons for the same version. So I remove 2010, reboot and try to install 2013. When I enter the product key the "Next" button never becomes active, suggesting the key is wrong or some other problem. I've double-checked and it is the correct key received during the purchase of the upgrade.

The documentation in the TIH 2013 User Guide doesn't seem to match the installer. Any suggestions on how to get around this issue?

Thanks.

Yes, 2010 must be uninstalled prior to a 2013 install. If 2011 or 2012, then no uninstall required.

Run the TI Cleanup utility (link below) and see if that helps.
If you have not done so, register your new serial number into your pesonal acct.
Refer to your purchase email and copy the serial into your clipboard.
Register and then paste the serial into the registratin.
When installing, paste the serial into the installation via a Control V input.
You will also need to input-copy-paste the 2010 serial as part of the installation

After a successful install of the 2013 base program, no need for a reboot if installation the plus pack. Repeat the same serial registration for the plus pack. Do not try to tyipe the 64 characters.

Thanks Grover. I somehow have five total serial numbers, two of which I can't place with a product, but now have the correct ones (for 2010, 2013 upgrade and 2013 Plus Pack). Will new builds of the same version have different serial numbers? Maybe that's where the two other serial numbers came from. I opted to download version 6514 with the initial install, but received a serial number by e-mail with the purchase of the upgrade (which appears to be build 5551).

You do not need different serial numbers for the same version. One for the program and one for the plus pack is all you need for the life of 2013--plus any for 2010.

Look at your current install (about/help) and see if you can determine which was used for your current install.

There is suxh a thing as a family pack but that is only one license but used on 3 computers. A family pack will be identified as such inside your account and onlyu listed once.
