Cannot open status screen Win 7 64-bit
ATI Home 2010 just installed on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Two issues so far:
1. While backup is running, I cannot open the status screen. The icon in the taskbar says "Acronis True Image Home 20% complete" on mouseover, and the percentage is progressing, but when I right-click and select "status," I get the User Account Control dim-out as expected, then when I select "yes," just a return to my desktop with no Status Screen.
2. Scheduled backup failed to wake up sleeping system last night. Backup commenced when I woke up computer this AM. As I recall, this was a major issue with previous versions of TI on Windows XP.
Suggestions?

1 - It sounds like you are experiencing the "TIH 2010 hangs on exit" issue that myself and others have reported. The main TIH 2010 program is used to display the backup status, but a previous TrueImage.exe process is still running, and a new one won't start until the previous one exits. Bring up TaskManager, and you will probably see two (or more) "TrueImage.exe *32" processes in the list. Kill the one with the largest "Memory (Private Working Set)" value, and your status screen should come up. If you have more than two TrueImage.exe processes in the list, keep ending processes until there is just one left. If it still doesn't start, kill the last one and try again.
2 - The current TIH 2010 task scheduler will not wake the PC from sleep. Topic #6992 describes a work-around for this by setting up a manual task and using the Win7 TaskManager for scheduling.
Edit: If you are experiencing the "hang on exit" issue, you will need to remember to manually kill the process whenever you're done using the TIH 2010 UI. For me, at least, even applying the "SnapAPI" patch didn't resolve the issue. Annoying, but otherwise TIH 2010 has been working pretty well for me.

I found that I could avoid the "hang on exit" issue by running TI as Adminstrator under windows 7.
Note that being part of the Adminstrator group does not appear to be good enough!
Try right clicking your Acronis True Image link, select properties and tick the run as Administrator box.
Good Luck!
