I'm using the latest version "true Image home 2010"
I made a full backup but when I try to restore after the reboot I get the message"please insert the last media of the backup archive and click retry", after this I have to cancel.
Let me be more specific, after reboot, I get the message regarding Acronis loading and afterwards instead of accessing the drives to choose my backup I get the message regarding the last media.
This never happened in version 10 and I really don't know what to do.
I also tried to restore a backup made with version 10 and got the same message.
Please advice urgently.

I'm waiting on this, too. I am version 9 but have a similar problem. I have 20 2GB tib files. When I try to use them, all of them give the same message, "....this is not the last volume of the backup file."

I am CRITICAL with this. Why is the file 20 not the last one? How can I at least use the other 38GB of data? I'm considering going back to PQ Drive Image. I can't accept this situation as a survivable condition.

Have you validated the archives after their creation? If not, I would recommend you to validate them by means of Acronis Archive Validation Wizard. You should check the file integrity, because the archives can be corrupted. In this case you are unable to restore the entire archive, you can try to recover your data files only. Try to explore the archives or mount them.

Unfortunately, in both cases it is unclear where the backup files are placed. If the archives are located on a removable media, I would recommend to copy the archive files into a single folder on an internal or an external hard drive.

If the files are located on an external hard drive, try another USB port, if you use an USB hub, try to connect the hard drive directly.

It will be also useful to try to recover the archives under Acronis Bootable Rescue Media. Acronis Bootable Rescue Media is based on Linux operating system, and you can experience another behavior (sometimes Rescue CD handles the corrupted archives better than the Windows part of the program).

Hello,

I use Acronis TI from the beginning and always have a reliable backup and no problems on restoring data, now I've used TI Home 2009 on my laptop and after the backup I always verify it, all was ok, I did a restore a couple of months ago from this BU and it was OK, now yesterday I have some problems with my Xp and I desided to do a restore, after I selected the last part TI asked for the first part and there it went wrong, TI anounced that the first part is corrupt and the restore can't continu, what to do? is there some tool to rebuild the BU or is the BU totaly lost?

  1. Where exactly the image is stored?
  2. Was this image created with the Acronis True Image Home 11 or with Acronis True Image Home 2009? 
  3. Please kindly specify us the full error message.

I regret to inform you that still we do not have the tool for repairing the archives, but still the error you received may point not on corruption of archive, but on issues with identifying the first of part of the backup, and this can be resolved.
