Cannot restore backup image
I hope an TI expert out there can help me.
I created a image of my C drive using TI 2011 Plus Pack. I needed to restore this image & started doing this through windows. The computer tried to reboot but did not so I forced shutdown by pressing the power button.
I then tried booting the computer but got a message saying there was no boot disk. I then booted with the TI boot disk, and went through the proccedure of restoring my image. However when it came to slecting a destination for the restore my C drive was showing as unallocated. I selected this and did the restore but after it was completed I could still not boot into windows. I tried again and this time my c drive had dssappered and was replaced by a D drive, My D rivie was now labled E.
I would really appreciate some help in getting my computer up and running again
Many thanks

Tell us more about your system. Which version of Windows?
How many partitions? Did you have any partitions which did not have drive letters assigned?Sometimes, the bios can loose which is the boot disk. During bootup, check the BIOS SETTINGS to make sure the proper boot disk is being selected.
When attempting to restore C, is this the only backup partition shown available from the backup file for a possible restore?
Do you have even an old backups which is a complete backup of your entire system to include all partitions?
I am running windows 7 ultimate.
I only had a single partition. No other partitions with drive letters not assigned. The backup I am trying to restore is a full & complete backup.

I have removed my C drive from the computer got and reformatted the drive using a defferent computer and am currently trying the restore again. Hopefully this time it will work. Why did the computer freeze in the middle of rebooting while preforming the restore in the first place?. This is a little worrying.
Update: After Reformatting the restore worked OK

TI reboots into Linux when you recover from Windows. Linux is the standard recovery environment that is used by the Boot Cd as well. I recommend you produce a WINPE boot disk since you have the Plus Pack and always use this for your recovery. See http://forum.acronis.com/forum/3426 Grover's Guide section 7 for help with this.

Martin,
It's great you had success. The disk appears to have lost its boot information and reformat provided new boot information.
Then, the restore put it back to normal.
Often times, wiping the old data before the restore is sometimes the only thing that works.
