Cannot use Mouse or Keyboard from BootCD TrueImage 2010
Got the Problem with my new System wtih P55 Chipset, MSI P55 CD53 Mainboard, I can't use any Mouse or Keyboard even if I take a PS2 version. I bought the TrueImage 9, does not work with it, lately downloaded the Trial of TrueImage Home 2010, same thing. I guess I need some help please.

Thank you for your reply!
Yes there is a Legacy USB option in the BIOS, no it does not make any diferences. I just run a test on a USB Stick formated to Boot as a FreeDOS and it run well I was able to use my wireless Keyboard without trouble.
And as I assume as soon as I can Use the PS2 keyboard as well to make BIOS settings It has to be something with Acronis?

It seems really odd that both types of keyboard/mouse connections are having problems. Usually, one or the other will work.
Does it make any difference if you boot TI via a CD or a flashdrive?
Have you tried the quiet acpi=off noapic option detailed in Section II of the Read Before You Post thread?
Have you tried using the usbmouse=off parameter?
Two other parameters you might try are nousb and nousb2 (if you try either of these, you may need to use the PS2 keyboard as USB support may end up disabled).

I just installed my MSI P55 GD65 motherboard and have the exact same issue. No usb keyboard and mouse. I tried turning legacy option off in bios, tied different usb keyboard, tired quite usb mouse = off. I had same issue with version 10.1 then upgrade to 2010 with same issues.

I too have this problem on my p55 MB. I also had this problem with the 2 previous releases of TI and an AMD MB. I was hoping this issue was resoled with TI 2010.

I upgraded to 2010 with no problems. Then downloaded the new build 6029 and the mouse and keyboard will not work when booting from cd. There is no support unless you pay. I have used this program since ver. 6 but now I am looking for a replacement.

from my shallow looking. it seems Acronis have used a 'bleeding-edge' kernel for the build 6029 CD.. based on 2.6.31
if i hook up a generic usb keyboard and remove the 'quiet' boot parameter, then boot and once at the shell, connect my microsoft ergonomic 4000 keyboard, not much happens. it detects usb device, but doesnt list it like a keyboard or anything like it used to do..... if i unplug the generic usb one and replug it in, it detects usb device, then states something along the lines of usb keyboard etc etc.
coincidentally, kernel 2.6.31 also brought USB 3 support.. wonder if this is related to some module overhaul...

Also I found that I had to use the "Safe Version" of the
Boot CD selections to use my USB mouse/keyboard.
However when I installed TI Echo and made a Boot CD with it
I CAN use the my USB mouse/keyboard.
Go Figure...
