Can't backup C: drive
Using True Image 11 upgrade.
Using "File Backup" from Main Menu to backup my C: drive.
Then under "Destination" it lists "G:\My backups" which is exactly what I want.
But when I click on "Backup Now", the next screen reads:
"Modification has failed: No task to modify."
Well, I'm only attempting to back up my C: drive, so what do I do now?
Many thanks.

I too am having this problem, any time I try to make a backup. When will you fix this? It's making me angry. I bought your software so I could backup my system, not so I could get a dialog that reads:
"Modification has failed: no task to modify
More information about this error and solutions may be available online in the Acronis Knowlege Base. To access the online resource manually, enter the event code at: http://kb.acronis.com/errorcode/
Event code: 0x00090063
"
It's been a few months. Either fix it or give me my money back.
Thank you.
P.S. I am using Webroot for antivirus.

A quicker workaround would be to create a new task for your backups.

@GroverH I thought that's what I was doing when I got the error message. I'm confused, was I doing something else?

Can you clarify which version of TrueImage you are using? Version 11 is several years old. The most current version is version 2011 of TrueImage Home. The version and build will be in the top line help menu. You may have to depress the alt key or ctrl key for the help in appear (in some versons)
If you want to backup everything on your drive C, then choose the Disk& partition type backup rather than the files backup.
Click on my signature below and look at items #7 A inside the index. You will also find other things of interest inside the index.

I resolved the error message. I upgraded to True Image Home 2011 in early October and was able to perform a disk and partition backup on a weekly basis. However, when I tried to perform the backup last night I got the "Modification has failed: No task to modify" error message. I tried a number of fixes, including turning off my AV, all to no avail. This morning I reinstalled the software and was able to backup Drive C. Apparently, a file had been corrupted or deleted.

Does True Image Home 2011 support Windows 7 64 Bit OS? I am wanting to see if I can buy this NEWER version of Acronis True Image and not have any problems?

Yes. I'm running True Image Home 2011 on Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit.

Same Message, Same Problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Home 2011 edition. I am in the process of setting up a new laptop with Windows 7 Professional already installed by HP. Since I made the first backups using Aronis Home 2011, Windows 7 had downloaded and installed 25 different updates. I also installed the XP mode. Am guessing that one of these changes was not compatible and when I tried to create another backup, it failed. After uninstalling and re-installling, I have been able to create another backup (to DVD) with all of the above now included. Will also make a backup to the hard drive.
Would guess Acronis needs to make changes to handle Windows 7 OS updates, or the XP mode software?? Iam using the trial version and had planned to purchase. Will see if I continue to get this issue before handing over $$$. Good luck!

Robert,
Are you referring to the version 2011?
If you have made multiple backups, the you will probably find dual tasks listed and you are looking at the wrong task. There is a vertical scroll bar which allows you to see all of the tasks listed under the My Backups button.

Every time I used to go Acronis forums I read many posts where people had more problems than solutions. I will wait awhile before hand out $29.95 as an upgrade price.
I run Windows 7 64Bit and have been through the Windows XP Mode (emulator) - more trouble than it's worth.
Hence, I want a true 64Bit version, fully usable on the 64Bit OS, not some 32 bit crap. I presently use a 64 Bit version of Macrium Reflect which does a full backup in less than 30 minutes. I like the fact Acronis allows backup and restore by a CD Boot disk, though.
Thanks, Donald

The Acronis Scheduler2 Service must be running, or I get this error. If you disabled this service when cleaning up "unnecessary" services, re-enable it, because it must be running for the backup to work. That was my problem and solution, at least!

This was my probelm also, the above poster figured it out!
For those of you who aren't completely sure how to do this,
You can fix this by going, Start -> Run, (or vista / 7) Start -> Search box and type in services.msc
Find 'Acronis Scheduler 2 Service', right click it properties, change the 'startup type' to 'Automatic'
Click Start and try your backup / recovery again!
