Can't boot from recovery media

Thread needs solution

I've created a boot disk from within TI2013 but can't work out why it won't boot from within the bootup menu on my Dell E6530 ( running Windows 8 64bit / SSD )
I see the DVD drive as a bootable option but TI2013 will not load.
I see in the bootup menu the following :
"Boot mode is set to :UEFI ; Secure Boot : On "
I can see an option to switch this off but since I don't understand what's going on here I am rather reluctant to do so.
Clearly there's got to be a way to boot from removable media in case the drive goes down.
Can anyone help ?

Are you able to boot from other non-Acronis bootable CDs?

Secure Boot needs to be turned off to be able to boot from the CD/DVD that is created from within Acronis. It runs a Linux version and the Secure Boot option may not allow it to run. You should be able to leave UEFI enabled, but can turn it off also, if needed to be able to boot successfully from the Acronis CD/DVD. Be sure to set both options back to the default settings (in your case - both to "ON") when finished with the bootable Rescue Media.

Many thanks for the replies.
Yes, your solution worked perfectly - I actually only needed to switch Secure Boot to Off, then the next time I rebooted the "Legacy" options became available and I was able to boot successfully from the DVD.
Thanks again
