Can't clone drive, second drive is not selectable
I have used True Image 2010 to clone a disk before in my system, but this time I can not get it to work. After selecting the source disk I find that I cannot select the destination drive. It is grayed out. I have cloned to this disk before, but now it won't work.
I saw that there is an issue with drives larger than 1Tb, and my source drive is a 1TB drive. The second drive is 500Gig.
I'm using Windows XP SP3. I have tried both using the bootable rescue disk and from within windows.

Hi Robert,
If I were you ,I would not waist anymore time with trying to do a clone.Instead ,go ahead with a backup image. Finally ,the difference between both methods ,is just a matter of time devoted to the task.See this discussion right here.

In this case I want to move the contents to a new drive, and be able to boot it. I am going to update to Win7 but I need to be able to go back to the original system without delays (simply move the power connector from one drive to the other drive). I will install Win 7 on my fastest hard drive (the 1TB), and use the cloned copy of my XP system (copied to my 500 gig drive) to either boot with (if Win 7 does not go well), or to copy my data to the new Win 7 system.
Data that is packed up in a compressed archive is not as easy to get to.
Looks like I will have to use some other vendors (free) software to do what I paid Acronis to do.

I had to go the slow way, and back up my data to a file, then restore it to the new drive. Works, but just not the same as cloning.
