Can't get nonstop backup to work

Thread needs solution

I have a C: drive with my data and a B: drive for backup. (They are identical hard drives.) A full backup is currently stored on the B: drive. When I try to set up nonstop backup at the panel labeled "Patition Protection Management" I get the error message "Cannot find an acceptable partition to create the storage." The panel lists only my C: drive, it doesn't show the B: drive. Clicking "Change" brings up a dialog with the error message, "There are currently no partitions where you can create the Nonstop Backup storage. Attach a new hard drive or resolve problems with the existing partitions." Acronis seems to have no ability to see the B: drive for storing nonstop backups, even though it had no problem creating a full backup on that drive.

How can I get around this? How do I tell it to store the incremental backups on the B: drive?

I am using Windows XP x64.

Hello Robert,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

First of all please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products.

Could you please check the disks for errors?

- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)

- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.

I would also recommend you check the following Kb article for step-by-step description on how to properly adjust nonstop backup option.
