Can't install - tabs grayed out

I had to uninstall Acronis because it froze Windows 8.1 on my laptop. I reinstalled and opted for downloading the updated file. It installed and accepted my serial nr., but even after a reboot, the "Backup & Restore" tab and ALL the tabs except for "Getting Started" are grayed out and cannot be accessed. I got scared and uninstalled the whole thing again and then ran the cleanup tool. Same results.
I put this on another Forum topi (53707), but the readers seem to have run out of ideas.

If it has not been de-activated and re-activated, this could be the issue.
It will need re-activation.
