Can't Restore Backups Stuck at "Starting Acronis Loader..._"

Thread needs solution

I have tried restoring a backup of my Windows 7 x64 OS on the C: Drive, using both bootable DVD recovery disk and restoring from within True Image 11 software while windows is running and with both operations I get stuck when it attempts to boot the Acronis Loader. My computer goes to the black screen with the "Starting Acronis Loader..._" and stays stuck there. Please Help

I messed around in BIOS and now I can get Acronis to load but if I do it with bootable DVD it doesn't see my Operating System Drive (C:) it seems like another BIOS setting but just not sure. If I try a restore from within Windows it reboots and loads Acronis and then I get an error message that it can't read from the file? I have the backup image on a USB external HDD?

Hello Scott,

Let me help you.

It seems that the standard bootable Acronis media doesn't have necessary drivers for your hardware or the hardware you have is detected incorrectly, and this fact caused the issue.

To overcome it, I may suggest you to use an alternate bootable media that you can download from your account. The download media differs from the standard one, it's more up to date and includes different hardware drivers, so it should work fine for you.

  1. Log in to your account (if you do not have one, you will need to create it);
  2. Once logged in, click My Products & Downloads:

  3. Scroll down to the registered product and click Bootable Media:

  4. Click Download:

  5. Acronis Bootable Media will be downloaded as an ISO file. See Burning an ISO Image.
