Can't save task with "Add to existing archive"
I have a task which creates full and incremental backup sets of my data partition and it has been running nicely for months now. Today I edited it for the first time since updating to 2010.6053 and I found that it comes up "create new archive" no matter how many times I set it to "add to existing".
I started fresh, with no existing archives and a new task. I set it to "create new" and incremental and ran it twice, and I got a full and an incremental. Then I edited it and it looked correct (add to existing). I didn't change anything but closed the wizard and then edited the task again. It had been reset to "create new", and no matter how I try I can't get it to add to the existing archive.
The only thing I can do is to (again) start with no archive and let it run and DON'T EDIT IT. Clearly this is not sustainable however.

I guess I'm going to have to open a service request and probably collect system information etc. before I get a response from Acronis...

When trying to "Add to existing archive", it is possible to do but you have to use the "browse" function and actually select the base backup by its name within the browse window. This is not an automatic selection. You must make the selection.
When it is properly displayed, and move to the next windows, then you can edit/adjust the incremental number so the next in sequence will be properly displayed to be created. (Note: deleting or moving a backup file should be done from the Recovery module.)
Editing a task can be troublesome and very easy to get a wrong selection because you do not have enough eyes to be aware of all the things which are being changed.
When editing a task, (which I do not recommend) I always keep a duplicate copy of my task so I can replace it if I mess up.

Yes, did that.

Good idea.
So my task was running fine until it decided to make a new full backup after 6 incrementals instead of the 8 I told it to...
I don't want to file a support request with Acronis just because I don't have the time it would take to debug this, so I guess I'm going to live with whatever it does, until I can't stand it anymore :)

I completely agree. This version has been nothing but a complete dissapointment. Totally unreliable and much too troublesome to use and maintain. Backup software should be intuitative and simple to use so it gets used! Unfortunetly, this ATI just doesn't fit the bill.
