Changing the folder used by default sync
I need to change the folder used by the Default sync. I've done some research in the knowledge base and the forums but all the info I've found doesn't seem to apply to the latest version as of 30Jul2015 (ATIH 2015 Unlimited - I can't find the version number to put that in here) I'm using since reading that information hasn't helped me to find the actual place to change the folder.
By accident (first time user of this feature) I pointed to a folder with a honking great amount of data and I really can't let it actually do any syncing (I've paused the sync to stop it from trying to send it all to my Cloud account).
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes please do this is quite annoying. I synced to a folder I now have no desire to sync to? I would like to delete that folder lol.

Actually no, this is more annoying than that. I would like to set up a local sync on that folder to another folder on the same pc. Now it is telling me I can't sync that folder because it's being currently being used in the default sync, which I am unable to edit or delete. lol??? So basically, the sync I want to do, Acronis will not allow me to do, by way of default sync settings.
hmpf.

Any follow up on this at all?
It's not an unreasonable request, let us change the sync folder.

I would also like to add my voice to this request. I first tried to sync a frequently used folder tree that is half a TB (that I normally just copy manually to my other machines) and then discovered that my available bandwidth would completely not support this. I have since had to rename the folder to stop True Image from consuming my bandwidth to no end, but now True Image keeps throwing errors at me because it cannot find the folder with the default sync. I would -really- would love to be able to change the default sync to a more reasonable folder, now that I know better what my system will and will not be able to handle.
If there is another solution I could employ, I would be open to hearing that, too.

Any more updates? Can someone response to this thread please?
Thank you.

Hello? :) Let us change or delete default sync.

I'm in exactly the same boat as the OP. I can't believe this functionality doesn't exist ... to change and/or remove a Sync seems a pretty basic requirement.
I know how I'm going to fix it: I'm at the start of a Trial. I haven't paid yet. I simply won't buy Acronis Cloud at the end of my trial. Both Dropbox and BackBlaze do the same job well and their iPhone Apps works smoothly (unlike the Acronis app which I've found to be extremely buggy).
Being new to Acronis I can only assume this is a brand new feature and has been let out of beta testing too early. I do hope the same does not apply to the core functionality...?

Anna Trifonova or someone else from acronis please update us on this. Let us edit or delete the default sync. I have bought your product, it works good, I would happily upgrade, I do not want to use the cloud service so why are you forcing this setting on someone with no interest in it? No way I will upgrade if this is not changed.
I would prefer to delete the default sync altogether but AT LEAST let me edit it.
Thanks.

So no response from Acronis. That tells me all I need to know. Together with this issue I'm abandoning my trial and searching for a more reliable product. I hope that, for the sake of all of you who have PAID for this software, Acronis sort this out and produce a useful, reliable product. I just don't have the confidence or inclination to wait for that to happen.

@Rich,
I personally don't find the sync function of Acronis useful, based on my personal needs. All the cloud services I want to store files in have cross-devices access, and a sync function. I happen to need to sync between local computers and I need a lot of control about which folder is synched with what, how often, and whether to keep older versions, etc. The only solutions I found to address these needs were GoodSync, and SyncBackSE. I ended up bying the premium version of SYncback, but they have a free version which lacks version retention and rotation.

Following a full reinstall of my system for reasons not related to acronis software, this is no longer a problem for me as the default sync is now gone. I think that if you won't change the way this software works by allowing people to edit or change the default sync there needs to be a BIG MESSAGE warning people that once they create it they cannot change! Look at the problems this has caused some people here.
Please take note and do something to change this!

I'm also a new users and have come accross this post I thought I was setting up a sync to my other pc and it ended up pointing 5TB of data to the cloud and now i'm stuck. Looks like my only option now is to remove and reinstall the software? (Thanks for at least answering if this would in fact work)
I'm very supprised you can't adjust what you have set up even turn it off (I was only able to pause) or change it.
It's funny this was one of the reasons I bought this software as I sync my NAS back to my pc. For the what if factore of two copies onsite and then send only important things to the cloud.
So now I can't get baremetel restore to work from a NAS and now Sync does not work and or not adjustable and yes things like folder names locations and stuff changes over time

I also ran across this problem when trying to switch from "Trial mode" to real data setup. I understand that the only way to deal with the problem with the default sync, but I am wondering what happens to your other backup settings and existing backup jobs after you remove and reinstall the software. Do you loose all of the other job settings? Does the software recognize that there is already a backup (not sync) on the Acronis file server when you reload the software, or do you have to do a complete backup from the beginning (500Gb, so it takes quite a while). I know that out Connected Backup software at work recognizes that there is existing backip data on the file server if you reinstall software and does not try to upload everything again.

Hello Charlie,
Backups that are stored on Acronis Cloud storage are not affected by uninstallation/reinstallation of client-side True Image software. Your uploaded backups will become visible to you after you install the program anew and sign into your Acronis account. The program will show you "Reconfigure" button, which will ask you to re-select the source for the backup and indicate desired schedule for automatic backups (or choose "Do not schedule" if you prefer to run them manually). Once you do that, Acronis True Image is supposed to continue uploading only changes since last backup to the online storage.
