Child process exited with code "0"

Thread needs solution

One of my backups appeared to stop during the Validation, with the Log entry : Child process exited with Code "0"

The Back up was initiated by a Win Task Schedule action, with a setting "stop the Task if it runs longer than 4-hours."

Whilst the Task should have been completed in less than 4-hours, the log entry was 6 hours after the start of the validation and was when PC was manually woken.....the PC shouldn't have gone into sleep mode in the first place.

Any clues as to the cause and meaning of the error message?

I have extended the Task setting, ought I to switch the power saving "sleep" mode to manual, as well?

Regards....Noel

Do you have a TI PRE/POST command is use as part the task?

One option might be to use a PRE command to make the computer fully awake via power adjustments setting..
and use a POST command to put the power confg backup to normal after the backup.

Many thanks GroverH.

I use a Post Command to close down the PC following the final Backup. When I first installed TI2014, I simply put the Sleep facility under manual control. I think I'll return to this setting.

I believe the child process of 0 is referring to your post command. Is the post command a batch or command file? If it is simply a shutdown command. I would suggest it be put into a batch file for execution via the post command.

As usual, many thanks GroverH....

....as usual, you are right. The shutdown command script is in the "Post command."

I have saved the script in a BAT file, making that the "Post command" entry.

As recommended, I have created a Shortcut to stop the close down! Very convenient.

I don't know what users and for that matter Acronis would do without your help GroverH!

Regards and many thanks.....Noel
