Clean install of TI 10 after removing TI 10 installation that became corrupted

Thread needs solution

Hi Everyone ,

My Dell computer is running Win XP Pro Sp3.

A few months back , I discovered that I could no longer mount a Acronis TI 10 # 4942 drive image backup of my "C" drive.
Then TI 10 was UN-able to see the back-up locations that I created on my external hard drive. So I was no longer able to use the scheduler for my backups , because I had to manually name my drive image back ups. If I didn't do so, TI 10 would overwrite the previous back up.

Deleting and re-creating the back up locations didn't work , so I used Revo uninstaller to keep completely remove TI 10 from my system. At that time I also uninstall-ed Dick director 10.0.2288 from my system to clean up all Acronis products from my system. I then re-installed TI 10 , but found that TI 10 still would not see a freshly created back up location. Same problem nothing had changed.

Next I downloaded the true_image_home_cleanup utility. And the devcon tool as recommended. But I couldn't download the Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup utility because Microsoft no longer offers it. So I used the "true_image_home_cleanup utility" to once again UN-install TI 10. After the UN-install, the tool told me to reboot to complete the process. But Windows could not boot normally. I got a screen telling to reboot with the "Last Know good configuration" . When I did so , I then checked "device manager" and found that under the "non plug and play drivers" the "Acronis True Image Back Up Archive Explorer" was still there. I then used "device manager" to disable "Acronis True Image Back Up Archive Explorer" and then I had to reboot. But again I received the message that Windows couldn't boot normally and that I had to use the "Last Know good configuration" to restart Windows. And when I once more checked "device manager" the "Acronis True Image Back Up Archive Explorer" driver was still there and enabled. It looks like my computer can't start Windows unless the "Acronis True Image Back Up Archive Explorer" is installed and enabled. And this is after I completely UN-installed TI 10.

Next I tried using the "Device Remover" software to remove all traces of TI 10 so I could have a clean install of TI 10.
"Device Remover" found these left over TI 10 files and drivers.............................

But when I used "Device Remover" to delete any of these objects I found that my computer would not reboot normally.
Again requiring to reboot from "Last Know good configuration" .
Does anyone know of a way I can I can get a good re-install of TI 10 where all of TI 10 's services will be functional again ? Feedback will be appreciated .

See 19028 my reply number 2. I would recommend JV16 rather than Revo uninstaller because sometimes it can be "too strong medicine". I would not use Devcon
