Clone from Cloud?
I have used Acronis True Image 2015 to completely back-up my laptop computer hard drive to the Acronis Cloud. My laptop computer hard drive died and I purchased a new hard-drive for my laptop computer. How can I clone my dead hard-drive to a new hard-drive from what i have stored on the Acronis Cloud? I can just download the backup files from the cloud, but I don't think the computer will recognize the new hard drive as a full windows 7 system hard drive as the old one was.

Thank you! Do I need to format the new Hard disk drive first and install it in the computer, before I recover from the cloud? Or, right now I have the new HDD connected to a different computer via USB - can I recover to the connected HDD on this different compuiter?

Michael, you shouldn't need to format the new HDD first but it wouldn't matter if you do, as the Restore process will wipe the drive in order to recreate the partition structure needed.
You can recover to the drive connected to the second computer so long as you can accurately identify the drive as the target for the restore operation. You do not want to restore over an active drive and end up with another broken system!
If you recover the new drive in the original computer, you can then reboot at the end of the process without having to start moving drives etc. You are also doing this on a dedicated system with less interference from any other activities.

Thanks for all your help. I did all you suggested, but when I tried to recover from the Acronis Cloud, via the Acronis recovery media, the software could not find any files to recover from. It seems that my full HD backup was not an "Archive", but just files. Not sure what to do now, but load in a new operating system and download the files directly from the cloud. Any other ideas?

Michael, sorry to hear that you don't appear to have a full system image backup in the Acronis Cloud - have you checked this by using the Cloud Dashboard?
If you don't have a local backup image that you can restore, then I guess the next question is whether you have a recovery disc / CD / DVD for your laptop, or else a Windows 7 install disc to use to recovery the machine?
