Clone Disk restarts to black screen

Thread needs solution

I follow the instructions that pretty much all the websites offer for the Acronis Clone Disk. I don't have the original recovery discs, so I want to know why it goes to black screen so I can clone my os. I need to clone my hard drive to my SSD.

If you know why it's hanging at a black screen, I'd appreciate it.

I'm having a similar problem, though with the Acronis True Image 2014 version which came free with a Crucial SDD.

I've upgraded 4 other computers (win 7 pro) without issue to SSD's. This time (win 8.1 pro) after the window telling me that a restart will be needed, it starts to shut down and then goes BLACK. The computer is on - though the screen is dark and there's no evidence of hard disk activity. I've gone through this 3 times... waiting up to 45 minutes while nothing happens. All that I can do is (hard) restart the computer, then it's working well (the computer that is... nothing has happened on my new SSD).

SUGGESTIONS??

Hello LordMatsu, GatrNol,

when you start cloning of a system disk from Windows, the restart is required and machine is booted in Acronis Linux environment.

Most likely the difficulties you are experiencing are caused by inability of Acronis Linux Loader to start on this particular hardware.

As a workaround you can use WinPE-based Acronis Bootable media.

And for investigation please contact our support team.

Thank you.

I tried the bootable media - to no avail. I tried another (company) software also - no go there (but got a lot further).

Ended up building a new computer !

THANKS
