Clone HDD to SSD with Rescue Disc

Thread needs solution

I have used Acronis Rescue Discs to clone backup boot drives of my computer for a few years now; saved me a lot of headaches.
I am considering going to an SSD boot drive on my workstation, but to reinstall all the programs would be a nightmare, so I'm hoping to clone the HDD to a new SSD with the Acronis Rescue Disc.
The Acronis Rescue Disc is version 6053, I'll be cloning about 60-70G of Win7 Pro 64 bit OS and other programs from the hard drive to a 120G SSD. The Win7 Pro 64bit OS is the original OS on the drive.
Can I do a straight clone from the current HD to an SSD with what I've got?
Thanks

Yes, you should be able to do that but you won't know until you really try. There have been several postings of several different methods used. You can do some searching and look at the results. Try searching for clone and sort the results on date. Or search on SSD and sort on date.

I have not worked with the SSD as of yet but you can either clone or perform a disk option backup and then perform a disk option restore. I don't like the clone procedure due to the risk factor of the source being at risk to a malfunction, mistake or power failure, etc.

Your existing system should already be aligned and the alignment should carry over.

The preferred method is to remove the source and replace it with the blank SSD.
Source can be placed in an alternate location during the clone.
Boot from the Rescue CD
Perform the clone or Restore (your choice)
Shutdown and detach the source.
Reboot with only the SSD attached.

Thanks Grover-Your input is appreciated. I figured that some versions of TI will clone an HD to a SDD, the question of which version will do it. The version I have may be outdated and only work with mechanical drives.
As with most new technologies, there is a lot of gray area.

Which TrueImage version are you using?

Since version 10, there is available a alternate bootable media from your registration account. It will still be the same version but has newer and alternate drivers. You might want to downoad that and burn it as an image onto CD. This may or may not produce any different results.

Again, you won't know until you try.

If you are referring to build 6053 as mentioned above, then it should work with an SSD and keep the same alignment.
