Clone Utility changes were disappointing in 2011 Upgrade

Thread needs solution

I used the Clone Disk Utility in 2010. About once a week I would clone my drive C: to a second hard drive and store it for backup. The second drive is mounted in a removal drawer on my PC. Cloning a 75Gb drive took about 30 minutes. It allowed me to check a box to shut down after the cloning operation.

I upgraded to 2011 and ran my weekly clone operation. It ran a good bit longer and the option to shut down after completion was no longer available. Consequently, I uninstalled 2011 and reinstalled 2010.

I've found that cloning works best for me. If my C: drive goes down, all I need to do is to replace it with my clone and I'm back up in no time. I would only have to copy files updated since the last cloning operation to the cloned drive. These file would be downloaded from my online backup service.

Did the 2011 cloning occur when booted from Windows; or using the more troublefree method of cloning when booted from the Rescue CD?

My experience with the 2011 Rescue CD is that once the cloning begins, there is an unchecked option listed on the progress screen to shutdown when completed.
