Cloning of C: yields an unusable result
I cloned my Sata0 drive (C:\ and E:\) to my Sata1 Drive. I generated a folder name to receive the data files. What I go was a Folder named: N360_Backup which contained a folder with the following label: G:\N360_BACKUP\{88F5802F-EE4E-41DD-8D7B-1F62E47E127A}.
Inside this 2nd folder were multiple folders labeled 1 thru 9 and A to F.
Inside any of those folders were files with 31 character names, just like the label above -
Character groups of 7,4, 4, 4, 12 alphameric characters.
Needless to say I cannot open these and have no idea what this CLONING operation has done.
A copy of N360_Backup also appears in my external Backup drive with the same strange folder and file labels.
At the end of the operation I had a screen labeled N360, where most or all of the files had the original name and extension PLUS .lnkxxxx, where the x were alphameric charters, numbering 3-5 characters.
Lastly, the procedure was supposed to delete all files from the target disk according to Acronis, but
failed to do so.
My impression is that the cloning failed to perform as advertised and has left me very confused.
As a 30 years user of PCs and programs, usually able to solve my problems, I am STUMPED>
