Cloning my HDD on my Lenovo G585 Laptop

Thread needs solution

I Tried to run a clone process (true image2013) from my Lenovo G585 Laptop so that I can convert to a SSD drive. All went well until the process goes to rebooting. Usually as soon as the boot process begins, cloning follows, BUT after the boot process starts, Cloning process does Nothing?? Repeated the process and still no cloning. Only thing that is different from a desktop hdd cloning is that my laptop has a recovery partition built in the original hdd. Why doesn't True image clone process clone to usb??? Thanks in advance for your help and let me know if I should be using a different process.

Clone should be used only by advanced users who know what they are doing. It is riskier and can result in a loss of data and a failed system. Create a full disk mode backup and restore it, using the bootable Rescue Media, as it's far safer.

Restore to the new SSD after installing it in the laptop.

Thank you for the direction. I've used cloning from true image for many yrs, and am familar with the process, but in this case, it did not work. Either way, I will take your advice. Again, thanks :>
