cloning with raid 0 to ssd

Thread needs solution

hi all i some help in trying to swap my operating system from my raid0 drives to sdd everytime ive tried it, it hasnt worked was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why
I have two 1tb drives in RAID0(done in bios) which contain everything and i want to put it on my corsair 3 120gb sdd
i've used a spare hard drive and moved all off my user files onto it so the RAID drives only contain 83gb of programs and os
i've done the regedit ahci change to 0 already and am a little confused as to when to change the bios over to ahci,do i physically swap the sata cables for the drives
i am using a asus formula iv which has 6 sata connectors,4 of them in bios can to changed to ide, ahci, raid, sata and the other two are ide or sata so also a little confused which drive to plug where
many thanks

To move the OS from a RAID 0 disk to another disk controller/mode you will need to use the Universal Restore feature and it might not work. On my system, my SSD is handled through the RAID controller. If I swith by BIOS settings from RAID to AHCI, my computer doesn't boot any longer (blue screen) because the disk controller drivers need to change.

If I were you, I would take advantage of the switch to an SSD to reinstall my Windows and apps. Feel free to try the Univesal Restore feature (it comes with the paid-for Acronis Plus Pack. It requires the right disk controller drivers in an *.INF form. Not easy.)

It works great when you don't change the target hardware (ie motherboard or disk controller). When you do, it is very hard to slip in the right drivers during restore. This implies editing the registry as it is being restored. Delicate operation by itself, notwithstanding the difficulty to locate the driver files you need in the right format. You can try Universal Restore, but it is not easy to use.
