Cloning Windows 8.1 system
Has anyone here cloned a windows 8.1 system. I would be interested in how they did it.
I'm beginning to believe you can't.
I first tried it from windows and I get a message, "Disk Cloning has failed. See log for details".
I have no idea where the log is so I got on a forum to find out if anyone else had this problem. I found two people and the threads were so long that I believe everyone got tired, and the problem was never solved.
One person said you can't do it from windows. (If you can't, then why is it on the screen to be selected.)
I have a laptop with two drives. One is a SSD as my C: drive and the other is a large HDD. I also have a brand new USB passport. My plan was to clone the SSD to the passport. If that worked then weekly I would clone to the internal HDD. I already had a backup of the C: drive on the HDD.
I then tried a bootable CD and sure enough there was a cloning procedure available. I tried the cloning and I had no errors. However when I rebooted to windows I found nothing on my USB drive. Worse yet, my HDD was also cleared and renamed WD passport.
Again I ask the forum, has anyone completed a Clone on Windows 8.1?

I did it with Windows 8 (not 8.1 at this moment ) using ATI 2014
My 8.1 machine is a test PC and I made my backups in ASZ located on another hard disk
When my disk system crashed (few months ago), I boot on the Acronis rescue CD ans I was able to restore my Win 8 from the ASZ.
