Computer doesn't shut down after back-up - Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit

Thread needs solution

This is a common topic on the Forum, but I can find an answer to this question for my environment. Running True Image 2014, latest build, on Win 8.1 Pro 64-bit. Scheduled back-ups are running fine and scheduled for just after Midnight. Logs indicate that back-ups were executed on time and completed in a timely manner. However, options are set for shut down after back-up and it is not occurring. When I arrive in the morning hours later, a jiggle of the mouse to bring up the screen and the shut down begins. Is there a change in settings to correct this or a command line instruction I can set up?

I think your best bet is to uncheck the shutdown option in the backup task and allow Windows own power plan to power down the machine to a sleep or hibernate state. If this does not work you may have to create a new task for the scheduled backup as sometimes changes to an existing task don't take.

Thanks for the response. I might try post-executing a batch file that executes Adobe Reader or some other small app -- that should be enough to bring up the screen.

Thanks - looks like a winner. I'm assuming there is no difference in command syntax for Win 8.1?

No difference.
