Computer hangs

Thread needs solution

Hi Folks,

1. I am using True Image Home 2009 on a laptop running Windows 7 64-bit.
2. I have a new 512GB SSD which I want to make the primary drive. So I want to image my current drive to the new drive.
3. I have installed Acronis on the old SSD drive. Then I have inserted the new SSD into the ultrabay. Then I have launched Acronis from the old drive while in Windows.
4. After indicating that I want to clone the drive when I click OK (or next) after a few seconds Acronis says it needs to reboot the system, which it does.
5. But it comes back to the DOS? screens saying
"Acronis True Image Home"
"Analyzing partitions:" 100%
"Locking partitions:" 100%
"Checking partitions:" 100%
then again
"Analyzing partitions:" 100%
Then it appears to hang. It has been in this state for 2-3 hours.

Any suggestions?

If using the cloning option, look at this link. Need to be booted from the TI Rescue CD when performing.

Note that TrueImage does enable you to also create an image of your computer via the Backup methodand that backup can be restored to a new blank disk.

I would also recommend that you read the tan/gold link below in my signature regarding the use of the clone procedure.
