Conducting a Restore Process

Thread needs solution

12/29/13
I'm using Windows 7 Pro with Acronis True Image Home 2013. My last backup was on 12/26/13 creating the tib file on my external backup drive (M:\). The backup was performed using the Backup/Recovery Tab with the Source set as C: and the destination set as M:. Using Windows Explorer, I can view the backup tib file on M:
Subsequent to that backup several programs and files were unintentionally deleted from my computer (C:\). I first thought this would not be a problem since I would simply restore M: to C:
I was vastly disappointed when launching Restore since there was no provision for me to select the Source tib file from my backup external drive M:, and my intended Destination location, C:\.
I communicated with Acronis but received a boiler-plate email two links that was irrelevant to my problem. Shastry (the responding tech) also related that I must first "validate the backup prior to performing recovery," although no instruction were included on how to "validate."
Please respond with precise instructions on how to perform a restoration of either the entire drive image or specific files.

As your backup appears to be of C only, you do not have the backup contents to create a replacement disk should your system disk go bad, but a backup of C only would enable a restore of C only. Click on link #3 below and review item #3 inside that link for restore C or review item 5 inside that link for restoring specific files or folders.
