Confused about PROTECTION STATE

Thread needs solution

True Image home 2009.
After installing True image a few months ago I took several image backups. When I look at the TASKS AND LOG display I see the calendar showing green dots over the dates indicating successful backup and the log shows successful backup, however the PROTECTION STATE display shows SYSTEM VOLUME BACKUP: NOT CREATED. This seems contradictory to me. What am I not understanding?

If you have made a full disk image or a complete C: drive partition image then you don't need to worry about this message.

It refers to the special imaging option that TI 2009 has, of the one-click system backup.

All this image will have in it, is the contents of your system drive which is probably your C drive.

In addition to what bodgy said:

I’ve had this problem for some time with ATI2009 b9796. Knowing I had several images stored on an external HD, I just disregarded the message. However, storing one backup on my “C” drive cured the problem. It might not be the best place to store images (in case of a crash) but I only keep an older image there for this purpose. Newer ones go on the external HD.

Initially, I never got the message until I powered down the computer including the external HD. Prior to this, the message never appeared. After re-starting both the computer and external HD, I got the message you refer to. Seems like ATI didn’t remember the image has indeed been made. Storing an image on the “C” drive eliminated the message for me.
