continual BSOD's from snapman.sys
I cannot boot PC normally as Windows XP crashes after user pw entered and programs begin loading. Changed msconfig enough to get system up and ran MS dump analysis which indicated snapman.sys is causing BSOD. This is after I made the mistake? of updating my Acronis TIH 2009. Tried to uninstall Acronis and system gets same BSOD during uninstall-- so can't uninstall. Tried to re-install from CD and stopped because it said a newer version is already installed. Is there some way to resolve this short of re-installing Windows??

I just backed up personal data and did clean install of Win XP. This time i installed Acronis TIH 2009 but DID NOT let it do any further updating. Everything is working right again. I had read some reviews saying that TIH was buggy software and now I believe it. I did find Acronis instructions on how to remove snapman which i did. However, the software still would not uninstall successfully (uninstall no longer gave BSOD but just failed half way thru). It is a convenient way to back up partitions and i think it will be OK as long as i remember not to do any further updating.
