Correct "Backup Scheme" to use
A couple of related questions, if I may...
Question #1:
I am unclear as to what type of Backup Scheme I should be using. I have 3 hard drives on my PC and would like to backup #1 and #2 onto #3. In any case, I would like to have one Full backup on the 1st day of the month, then Incremental backups every day after that. So at the end of January, for example, I'll have 1 Full then 30 Incrementals. Then on Feb. 1st, it will create a new Full backup and for the rest of the month it will create Incremental backups each day. On March 1st, I would like it to erase all January backups. I don't understand the proper "cleanup" options to select to get that to happen. (Please see attached screenshot.)
By the way, if I cannot specify "the first of the month" - I am ok doing a Full backup every 30 days. I was just giving calendar dates for clarity in my example.
So the question is - could you please tell me specifically how I should opt for each one of the options that are circled in red.
Question #2:
What does "Do not delete the first version of the backup" mean? In my example above, to what would that refer?
Question #3:
Is there any risk in "banking" on having all 30 Incremental backups mesh together properly to *reliably* be able to reconstitute a completely valid restore?
Thank you very much in advance!
