CPU Usage when no backup is running.

Thread needs solution

If I start up Acronis True Image Home 2012 my CPU Usage jumps from 3-5% up to 25% maxing out one of the 4 cores. The system is an ASUS M5A97 with 4GB memory, AMD FX-4100 Quad-core Processor, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and 48TB of hard disk storage.

When a backup is actually running the CPU usage is only about 10%. So when the program is idle why does it take up so much CPU usage?

Thanks in advance.

Megan,

Although it shouldn't be a factor, see what happens if you disbale the NSB and Sync service in Services.MSC.

It is more likely that Acronis Scheduler2 is the cause of the problem, but see if the above two services being set to either manual or disabled solve the problem.
