Create backup image from shutdown or reboot?

Thread needs solution

Hi All,

Just a quick question, is there away using True Image 2011 to automate a HDD clone when ever the computer reboots or shuts down.

What I would like is have is when computer is shutting down as part of the shut down process True Image 2011 kicks in and does a clone of my C drive to a image on my D drive and then powers off computer Is this possible?

Cheers

Turn the question around to: Is there a way to shutdown the computer after TI makes an image of the C drive. There is a checkbox to shutdown the machine after the task is completed. I"ve never used it.

I wouldn't want to make an image on bootup when I had other things to do.

True Image Terminology:
In True Image terminology, a clone is an identical copy of a whole physical disk created on a second physical disk so what you want in TI terms is to create an image of C on drive D. You can have as many images that your D drive will hold whereas you can only have the last clone since it takes the whole disk. Also, if you boot a system with an original and a freshly cloned disk in it, Windows can get confused. For this reason, the original disk should always be disconnected/disabled when the first successful boot is done after cloning - then it's OK to have them connected at the same time.

Cloning a disk is intended to be used when an old disk is being replaced by new disk but since it does make a copy of the whole disk, some people use it as a backup mechanism. TI will only clone a complete physical disk not individual partitions. Images can be of a whole disk or a single partition or several partitions.

My computer is on all the time so its does not start from the boot often but just want it to backup when it does.

Mind you the wee check box thing may kind of help.

Cheers
