Create New Partitions During Clone to New Drive

Thread needs solution

I have ATI WD 2013. i have an HP DV2000 Laptop running XP, and I am about to replace my current 360gb hard drive with a 1tb drive. I currently have only 2 partitions, C & D with C being the Primary/Active and D used for Data. All i am finding are instructions to clone my drive to the same partitions and make the existing partitions larger. I would like to add 2 new partitions (E,F). I thought maybe I should partition the new drive prior to the restore but I see ATI deletes all existing partitions on the target drive prior to the restore. How can I accomplish this?
Thank You,
Steve

Hello Steve,

sorry for the delayed answer.

Disk cloning operation gives an exact copy of original disk with same partitions and same content. Please take a look at this article for better understanding of the procedure.

If you want to have any additional partitions on your new disk you can first partition your new disk and use backup-restore method for moving data from your old disk.

Thank you.
