Data increased after clone

Thread needs solution

Cloned Program disk with True Image 11.
Original disk=60 GB (55GB really), 55GB used. New disk=120GB (110GB really).
After cloning the cloned 55GB had expanded to 95GB on the new disk of 110GB, leaving only 16GB free.
As I didn't want 40 GB to disappear, I retried, now manually setting the clone to 'not expand, unchanged copying'. This worked, now I had 55GB on the new disk and 55GB unallocated.
Now I needed to expand the 55GB partition to the full disk size of 110GB.
After several unsuccesful attempts to repartition the disk to 1 partition (including the need to fully reformat, securely erase disk, several not working True Image clone actions), I succeeded with MiniTool Partition.
At that moment the cloned disk was connected as an extra disk. It contained 55GB data on a 110GB partition.
However, when I then swapped this disk to become the boot disk, it all of a sudden contained 95GB data again.
1. How come?
2. Anything to do about it?
