Deleting incremental backup files
I'm running ATI 2013 on Windows 7 64-bit and I have a backup set that has been incrementally added to over the past 8 months. I recently had a malware infection and decided to roll back to one of the original incremental versions from July of last year and it came back beautifully. Since I do regular backups of my files outside of ATI, I was wondering if I can delete the subsequent incremental backup files, leaving only the original full back up and the first two incremental backup files (that keeps the chain linked up until July) without invalidating the backup as a whole.
Thanks for any help.

Thank you. Once the deletes are done, as long as the backup is validated then I should be OK, correct?

If the backup validates, there is a good chance the backups are capable of being restored. However, I would discourge your practice of having so many incrementals. The risk factor is not in your favor. Remember, all the members in the chain have to be present & healthy in order for all to be restored. I would encourage you to have more frequent full backups which is the base of any restore.
