Dell Optiplex 390 (TI Home 2011)

Thread needs solution

Hello!

I just got a new Dell Optiplex 390 in and I am unable to use the bootable media created by update 2 (Build 6875) to browse my network save locations. Is there any way I can patch up the version to include network drivers for this model cpu?

(Update) - NIC on this model is a Realtek RTL81XX.

Sean C,

You cannot include drivers yourself. If you are under support, file a ticket to support. Also, post in the sticky abour hardware support in this forum.
On you own, you could try a BartPE based disk (you will need Windows XP installation files). If you buy the Plus Pack on top of ATI, you will be able to produce a WinPE based disk. Both should have the drivers for your NIC.

Thanks for the tip! After a few days, and pages of instructions (a lot of them old), I managed to customize a WinPE 3.0 environment with the proper drivers for the NIC card and ATA controller. On top of that I even got it all on a USB drive, no more stinkin' cds!

Sean, We've been working on this for an Optiplex 390 for some days now. Would you be able to send over your PE wim for us? We need to image a lab ASAP. Thanks!

Sean, would you happen to have a link to your PE you got to work with your 390's? I've been trying for a few days to image our machines with True Image 2010 and it cannot locate any HDD's. The program will not even load....thanks!
