Desktop shortcut to disk backup doesn't work

Thread needs solution

When I create a shortcut, either by dragging the backup box to the desktop or by right-clicking on the Backup Now button, a valid looking shortcut is created, but clicking on it doesn't start the job. Nothing happens: no error is visible; no message is displayed.

This is only happening for my disk backup. Shortcuts created in the same way for file and email backups do work. The disk backup is on a schedule (once daily, 15 minutes after startup); the file and email backups are not on schedules.

The properties of the nonfunctioning shortcut are the same as the functioning shortcuts. The nonfunctioning shortcut has the following target (similar to the working ones):

"C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageLauncher.exe" /script:F3AFE71B-C556-4E4C-94F6-DCA195D321A0

Any ideas?

If you have set your backup to once daily and you attempt to run it after the scheduled time, it will see it has run already and won't run again.

Hey, thanks, Pat L. (I'll check my notification settings and try to reply to folks sooner in the future.)

Your explanation makes sense. This is not a problem with the shortcuts, as I thought -- they work fine.
