Disc Back-up Failure - Understanding Log File
Ever since changing to a W7 lap top I have problems with back-ups. I have followed the instructions in GroverH's informative post 56872: Grover's How to Backup 2014 from within Windows. Subsequent back-ups failed, yet I could see files.
I have deleted the previously failed back-ups. I have used a completely different re-formatted external drive (Z) with no data on it.
Attached are a PDF showing the back-up settings and a text file of the log.
The log seems to indicate that the back-up is trying to access files on the E drive. This can only refer to far older unsuccessful back-up attempts so I am stumped.
Please would someone tell me what I am doing wrong because I do not understand the log files. Thanks

Hi Grover,
Yes I assigned Z to the external drive before I set up the task & it is Z in Explorer. THis is why I cannot understand references to E, an old & deleted back-up task.
No network storage
Acronis secure zone???

I don't have 2014 installed so I am handicapped on what I can compare. I have not found the error message to which you refer.
From memory,
start TI-2014 and go to the top where the log files section is located.
There should be an opiton to save the log file as a zip file.
Please attach unless this is the same file you have already attached.
So far, I have not found any reason for the file not to work.
All I can suggest at this point would be an uninstall and reinstall
and make a new task exactly the task you have attached.

Hi Grover, yes that was the log file I attached.
I'll try the good old uninstall as it's driving me nuts.
