Disk Full + Clean Up Won't Work

Thread needs solution

Hi I am a newby to this forum and I hope someone out there will be able to help me.
I am running True Image Home 2010, Build 7046 which I installed in May 2010 having used the basic Acronis One-Clock Backup program which came free with a Seagate Disk Drive which I bought in January 2010. I backed up my hard disk using One-Click and since upgrading to TIH 2010 I have been content with Non-Stop Backup doing all the backup I hope I will never need!
The problem I have now is that the external hard drive (500 GB) is now full and Non-Stop Backup has turned itself off. I have tried to use the Clean Up facility by selecting both 1 month and 1 year storage to be kept (I would prefer a bit longer than a month but the slider only gives 1 month or 1 year) I click ok and get the message 'Are you sure you want to clear the selected time frame?' I click on Yes and nothing happens. I have spent two evenings trying to resolve this and am becoming disillusioned with TIH. Having read some of the comments on this forum I am beginning to wonder if I did the right thing in upgrading. Any help would be appreciated.

Chuffer,

Sometimes it takes a very long time for ATI to clear a lot of data. I am not certain you are just experiencing a horrible delay, but there is a strong chance.
Why don't you give it a chance and let it work for a long while to see what happens...

At any rate, I strongly recommend you run regular full disk images of your system in parallel to NSB. If one day you have to restore your disk, you might discover too late that your NSB backup doesn't have all the info you need to get a new disk up and running.
Always have a full disk backup that you feel OK going back to (meaning not too old) in case your NSB fails to meet your expectations.

If waiting it out doesn't work, you have the option of upgrading to the latest 2010 build, try it from there, or to simply try to delete your backup.
If you decide to upgrade, make sure you uninstall this version first, use the cleanup utility, and then install the new build.

Hi Pat,
Thanks for the link and apologies for not responding before now - been very busy since I posted my initial query. I've left the program running overnight but had no luck in cleaning up the backup drive. Based on the link you kindly supplied I've generated a System Report and think I'll send it to the Acronis Forum Moderator and see what suggestion they might have.
