do I need to uninstall the trial version

Thread needs solution

Hi All
I installed the trial version of Acronis True Image 2010 about a week ago and decided to buy the full copy. Paid the money and entered the serial number. All seemed to be working ok (except no wireless mouse or keyboard after booting from the rescue disk, lucky I have a usb set I can use until it is fixed). My question is when I received the email it offered me to re-download the programme. Do I need to do this or can I keep on using the now registered trial version?
Thanks in advance if you can help
Bob

Hello Bob,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

We usually recommend to uninstall the trial version before installing the full one, though it’s optional. Regarding the issue a possible problem is in USB legacy support. Make sure that USB legacy support is disabled in BIOS settings (see USB Legacy Support Compatibility).

If the issue persists please download ISO image based on ISOLinux from your account under Registered Products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software. ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media has several boot parameters that may help overcome possible issues with booting. You can also set a specific VGA resolution in the ISOLINUX media if there an issue with the Graphical User Interface (GUI). Check the following article for more details.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Hi Drmitry and thanks for the reply.
I did download the iso from the my account page but still no wireless mouse or keyboard when I boot from the recovery disk. As I say I can work around it using a USB mouse and keyboard until it is fixed. I have read on another thread http://forum.acronis.com/forum/6244 that the issue is under investigation.
Thanks
Bob

I received the iso. I can report that I now have a boot disk that has wireless mouse/keyboard support
Thanks again

Hello Bob,

Thank you for your response, we are really glad to hear that the issue has been resolved.

I would like to share the below information, it can be useful for other customers.

If your wireless USB mouse and keyboard, which are parts of a wireless USB kit, do not work in Acronis Bootable Media (the issue described in this article), please log in to your account, go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media (please note that the license should be registered). We have recently uploaded new files that contain the fix for the issue.

Download the file, create Acronis Bootable Media and check its' functionality..

You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article

There are two types of Acronis Bootable Media:

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can generate in your Acronis product. This type of media is based on Acronis Loader;

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can download from your account on the Acronis website. This type of media is based on ISOLINUX.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the web site more frequently than regular product updates are released.

Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

You would surely quell the anger of a lot of users if you would simply issue an updated version of True Image that has all these "fixes". What's the hold up?

It would also save the support team all the time it is now taking to answer all these pleas for help.
