Does ATIH 2013's recovery CD support network shares?
I've searched this forum and the internet for an answer to this question, with no luck:
Does True Image Home 2013's recovery CD support writing a backup to and restoring from a network share?
The Recovery CD environment has an option to connect to an FTP server or an NDAS, but not a plain network share. From memory I think it had a "network places" option in the folder browser, but that didn't find anything.
My IP address has changed completely since I created the bootable media. Could it be that the bootable media is hard-coded with my old IP address hence it can't find any computers on my network (because it tries to use the old network's IP address range)?
Thanks for any help,
Steve

Thanks for the reply Colin. I didn't enter an IP address when I created the recovery CD.
You said it should "just read whatever IP address has been assigned to your machine". However, when booting into the recovery CD the computer's not running MS Windows and there's no DHCP server on the network, so the computer has no IP address as far as I know.
Does this mean I need a DHCP server on the network to be able to read/write to a network share in the recovery CD?
Thanks again,
Steve

Steve,
You can set a IP address on a per use basis for the machine you are starting the BOOT CD from. From the main menu (at top of GUI) select Tools and Utilities > Options > Network Adapters. Uncheck Auto configuration and enter your desired network parameters.
Regarding shares. Yes, fully supported. Like all windows devices, the share needs to be a member of the workgroup used on your network. "Workgroup" is default. Auto discovery depends on the settinings on your resource and/or the settings on your router (if being used).
Acronis is network aware... so if you start typing an IP or UNC path in the image destination dialog....
\\NAS _Name\share... or
\\192.168.x.x\share...
A log in dialog will display requesting credentials. Once you are logged in, all shared resources which you have permissions to will be displayed.

Thanks shadowsports, that's perfect! There's a delay whilst the network adaptor is found, but that seems to be what I was looking for.
