Don't want TrueImage Sync Agent Service or either Scheduling process

Thread needs solution

I had a slightly older version than the 6131 I got yesterday for my second system, so after installing it on my other system, I came back to try installing it on my main system. I was informed that I'd have to delete the existing version, so I did. After the installation of the newer version, it didn't remember the history of my 4 backup drives with 4 partitions each. I have a removable SATA socket for both my hard drives.
After the installation of the newer version, I'm getting a Sync Agent Service which I don't want, and when examining processes, I see there are two Acronis Scheduling processes which I don't want or need. What I want to do is stop all three of these unnecessary processes from starting.

How do I stop them from starting?

Thanks,

Click start, type services and run the services app.
Look for acronis schedular and acronis sync agent services which should be at the top, double click, choose manual startup type.
If you choose disabled as the startup type, you will get an error msg everytime you start acronis.
Manual will still disable them and will only run sync service if you click the sync tab and log in

Diabling or setting the Sync agent to is fine - disabling the scheduler will prevent you from making any images manually or via a schedule.

I want to use Acronis True Image 2012 to do a daily backup only
Which services do I need and which can I switch off.

You can safely disable:
- in services, the NonStop Backup and the SyncAgent,
- in startup items, TrueImageMonitor process

I'm only keeping Acronis backup on my computer to read old backups. I don't want it to run anything, especially the Sync Service. How do I get it to stop?

Read the above posts to see how to stop the sync service and others.

Colin, if you are making backups manually without any automatic scheduling, can you explain why scheduler service is necessary?

Balu,

The Scheduler does more than schedule tasks, it is the interface that connects between True Image and the OS and schedules True Image into the OS' tasks, much like in the corporate versions there is the Acronis Agent which performs a similar task.

It is the part that indexes the database arranges for the tasks scripts to be updated.
