I'm not totally sure why you would want the online part of online backup from not running? Which version of TI have you got installed and which Windows version? If you are running ABS2010 then you can stop or disable the above process as it does very little unless you want to perform on line backups.

Sorry for the delay, somehow the notification of replies got turned off.

I've got TIH 2011. I can't find anything in 'services' so I'm not sure how to stop it from running.

rkh, you can surely prevent this process from running, in case you're not using Acronis Online Backup.

The reason why it runs right now is that it's added to the OS Start up. In order to remove it please do the following: 

1. Go to Start -> Run
   Type there msconfig and press Enter.
   This will get you to the System Configuration Panel
2. Find the Panel Startup tab
3. In the Startup tab you will find the "Acronis True Image" line. Increase the size of the Command tab to ensure that the source is listed as C:\Program Files\Acronis\OnlineBackup...
   
4. Uncheck the Acronis True Image option, press "Apply" and "Ok'
5. Please note that you may be asked to reboot

This will resolve the inconvenience faced.
